Tune-Up
TUNE-UP
Infrequent tune-ups can lead to poor fuel mileage, rough running and difficult starting. Learn when to schedule an engine diagnostic test to determine your tune-up needs, whether it’s a fuel injector service to restore engine performance, power and mileage or fuel filter and air filter replacements.
Engine Analysis
Why this is important
An Engine Diagnostic (or Scope Test) determines what corrections are required during a tune-up to get your engine running smoothly again.
What's included
| Road test to determine current system performance. | |
| Computer analysis of spark plugs, ignition wires, the distributor cap, rotor and coils, as well as the oxygen sensor and fuel injection system. | |
| Check of vehicle's computer for fault codes. | |
| Visual check to confirm condition of the PCV valve and fuel filter. | |
| Check of engine timing (where applicable). | |
| Examination of starting and charging system. | |
| A detailed written Vehicle Inspection Report. |
When to have this done
At your vehicle's recommended spark plug service interval, as specified in the owner's manual, or when experiencing any of the following symptoms:
| Check 'engine' or 'Service soon' warning light is illuminated. | |
| Engine is running rough. | |
| Poor fuel mileage. |

Engine Tune-Up
Why this is important
Your vehicle's year, make, model, maintenance history and mileage will affect its tune-up requirements. An Engine Analysis will determine exactly what is needed to get your vehicle running right.
What's included
| Replacing spark plugs with your choice of brand. | |
| Comprehensive tune-up inspection with a written Vehicle Inspection Report. |
When to have this done
Please refer to your owner's manual or see an Auto Service representative.
Did you know?
The ignition system provides electrical energy to the spark plug. If the electrical charge is not delivered at the proper time and at its recommended strength, the engine will not function properly.
Did you also know?
The warning light on your dashboard is an indication that the on-board computer system has detected components operating outside their acceptable range. This can be an indication of a minor problem or one that may require immediate attention.

Fuel Injector Service
Why this is important
Fuel injectors start and stop the flow of fuel into the engine. A clogged or dirty fuel injector will not deliver the optimal amount of fuel required for the air/fuel ratio - reducing your engine's efficiency. Carbon, dirt, gum and varnish can seriously hinder engine performance by building up in your vehicle's fuel injectors, intake channel and combustion chambers. Proper maintenance can significantly improve performance with faster starts, smoother running, better acceleration and improved gas mileage. Fuel Injector Service also helps fuel system components attain their intended life span and reduces harmful vehicle emissions.
What's included
| Cleaning vehicle's fuel injectors and combustion chambers of contaminants. | |
| All necessary cleaning solutions. | |
| A detailed written Vehicle Inspection Report. |

Fuel Filter Replacement
Why this is important
Replacing your fuel filter minimizes the risk of fuel starvation while maximizing the life of related fuel system components.
What's included
| Installation of OE approved replacement filter. | |
| Visual inspection of mounting and hose and/or line fitting at the filter. |
Did you know?
The fuel filter captures debris travelling through the fuel lines from your gas tank before the fuel reaches the delivery system. Neglecting to change the fuel filter on a regular basis can result in poor performance and in extreme cases cause a 'no start'.
Air Filter Replacement
Why this is important
A dirty air filter restricts the amount of air entering the engine, potentially impacting fuel economy and performance. Having the air filter changed as part of your regular service schedule helps ensure top performance and efficient fuel economy.
What's included
| Installation of engine-specific replacement filter. | |
| Visual inspection of engine. |
When to have this done
Inspect with every oil change.
Did you know?
| For every 9 litres of fuel used, your engine can consume up to 100,000 litres of air. | |
| Your air filter traps dirt particles that might otherwise damage internal engine components. |
Cabin Air Filter Replacement
Why this is important
The cabin air filter traps outside air contaminants such as road dust and pollen and help prevent them from entering your vehicle through your ventilation system. It’s important to ensure the air your breathing inside your vehicle is clean. Over time, these contaminants will restrict air flow and if not properly maintained, may damage your ventilation system.
Did you know?
| The air circulating inside your vehicle may actually be more polluted than the air outside. |

Engine Diagnostic Test
Why this is important
If the Check Engine Light comes on while driving or remains on, it is a warning of an emissions or sensor problem and should be analyzed. If the light flashes, the condition is more severe and must be checked immediately to prevent catalytic converter damage.
What's included
| Computer scan for codes. | |
| Assessment and research for correction. | |
| A detailed written Vehicle Inspection Report. |
When to have this done
| If the Check Engine Light comes on, be sure to take the car in for a diagnostic test. | |
| If the light flashes, the problem is more serious and should be checked immediately. |
Did you know?

Timing Belt Replacement
Why this is important
Every vehicle must have its timing belt replaced as stated in the owner's manual. Doing so not only helps you comply with warranty requirements, it also reduces the risk of engine damage or roadside breakdown.
What's included
| Replacing the old timing belt. | |
| Visual inspection of components driven by the belt, pulleys, guides and tensioner. |
