Does Not Kill Grass & Works Great
If you read the reviews on this product, it's obvious by most, that it works great, but many are stating that it's hard on or kills grass.
I have used this product for years, and use one bag/ pail on a 30 ft long by double width driveway every time there is ice. This usually occurs where I live, about 6 or 8 times a year.
My grass in the spring is in the very same condition that it was in the fall, and as you have read, I use a ton of this product every winter.
I suspect that those with lawn problems, had perviously either used salt and it is now saturated into the soil along the edges of the driveway ( replace soil and re-seed ) , or they failed to give there lawns a fall winter feeding of Scotts Turfbuilder fertilizer, or the petroleum in poorly made asphalt is leaching naturally from the driveway and is bleaching the grass along the edges. The fall fertilizer helps in reducing the overall affects of any leaching problems.
It works great, ( should be selling for for much less though ) and has the same family of chemicals in it thats used on most of our Ontario Provincial Highways.
I hope this helps in your decision to purchase this product and helps those with lawn problems.

fast acting
fast acting, blue - so you see where you've salted, does leave white spots on shoes/floors, etc.

glorified safety salt
It sure works well, and it should considering its 3 times the price of salt; of course my driveway is asphalt so I'm not worried about damage like concrete drvwy customers...If price starts to come down I'll give it another try.

Works vs. Kills Grass
I agree with the post about killing grass, but with any product that has salt/urea you will have the same effect. I found that by spreading the salty snow over a large area ,instead of right next to the walkway, it greatly reduces the chances of killing grass or plants. Remember salt and urea are usefull to a lawn, but too much of a good thing can kill.

This stuff works great but I found that when you would shovle and the bit of salt left over would get pushed onto the grass well then spring comes and you see yellow along sides where you pushed the snow, that is the only down fall.
