Vtech DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone with Digital Answering Machine
I bought a device (Cobra PhoneLynx) that lets my cell phone connect to my home phone via Bluetooth, including simulating a 'ring' signal. Unfortunately it didn't make my old Philips cordless phone ring reliably. I bought this Vtech set on sale, knowing I could return it if it had the same issue. It works perfectly with my cell link device. (Now I have an answering machine that answers my cell calls!) As well, the Vtech has better sound and the ability to screen callers by listening THROUGH THE HANDSET as they're leaving a message. The only negative is the LCD is harder to read than the Philips. As a bonus, I was able to register two of the old Philips handsets to the Vtech base! (caller ID, call & answer work; directory & ans. machine access don't.) I'm quite happy with the Vtech.

Best purchase and the price is right.
For the price, I assume that the quality of the product would be abominable but surprisingly the quality is awesome. The rating range goes up to 500 feet; there is barley no interference or that ruffling sound when you are outside having a conversation. On top of that you can have a hands free conversation with the touch of a simple button and it has a built in answering system.

Very good cordless phone system
Despite some very poor quality products from VTech, this particular model of cordless phone is actually very highly rated.
Users are typicaly very pleased with this version. Good quality, good battery life, etc.
Each handset has a built in speakerphone, and audio quality is also said to be excellent.
DECT 6.0 means no interference, and it's fully digital unlike some 2.4ghz and 5.8ghz models which often are only half digital.
If you subscribe to voice mail from your telephone provider, you can disable the answering system on this phone. If you do decide to use the answering system on this phone, be aware that it will not take messages for calls that come in over call waiting if you are already on the line, unlike voice mail which will, though this is the case for any telephone with a built in answering machine.
