Happy Customer
Shopped around and found this to be the best value. I prefer to buy Canadian made, which the GSW waters heaters are, opposed to what's available in the American chains of big box stores.
Very pleased with my purchase. We get hot water when we need and haven't had any issues with the tank running empty on my famliy of 4.

Not Worth the Trouble
I purchased this tank in 2005 and it has failed. Well inside warrantee so it is replaced easily enough. But the headache of having your home torn appart to replace flooring and the subfloor isn't worth the cheap price of the tank.

Hard Water
I've owned two of these. First one lasted one month past the six year warranty and the one after that lasted less than 4 years. I do have a well with hard water and it is the cheapest tank you can buy so you get what you pay for.

good reliable heater
It delivers hot water when we need it. No leaks or problems. Have had this running for 2 years without issue.
For anyone with more than two people in the house I would recommend investing in the 60G model instead of this 40G, otherwise a great unit.

Great Value
We purchased this hot water heater seven years ago and never had a problem with it until one of the heating elements just went, so we replaced both of them. We also purchased the replacement elements at Canadian Tire as well. When the time comes that we need to replace the whole unit, we will deffinately buy this same one again. We feel we have gotten good value for our dollar. I would recommend regular maintenance on your hot water tank such as draining the sediment from the bottom of your tank until the water runs clear. I feel this has helped with the life of our tank. I would also recommend a hot water heater blanket from Canadian Tire, it's worth the investment.
