Exactly As Advertised
I replaced my 2005 Ford Taurus stock headlights with these after my low beam went out after over 5 years without a headlight failure.
Now I have always found that my Taurus had a very good light system and was satisfied but decided to try these Sylvania Silverstar Ultra Halogen Headlight bulbs.
I had read many reviews on these both on the good and on the bad. To be honest I was probably expecting very little difference. However I was surprised as these are really white and not that mild amber color we are used to.
I was stunned on how bright these are and how far down the road I could see. I found driving with low beam on series 400 highways seemed to give me more illumination than with the high beams on the stock ones.
I also found that peripheral vision increased and as such made it easy to see animals lurking in the ditch. What a difference it also made in the back roads where the lights always seemed darker.
I am totally satisfied with these and if they cost $ 100.00 I would still buy them. Would you go back to black and white TV from color? No. I would now never go back to the standard stock bulbs.
Not sure on why some reviews are so negative as they seem to be just as described on the package. Mine were the 9007 blubs and fit perfect as the body was identical to the old ones. I even used surgical gloves to install them just in case some how I accidentally touched them.

not worth the money
I installed a pair of these in Dec . one lasted until mid Feb, the other just went in mid april. I will go back to standard bulbs for 1/4 the price and last longer.
Also, I am a licensed mechanic and did not touch the bulb.

These are the best lights of all time! Osram Sylvania lamps are the best in the world. Worth the money.

Great bulbs
Bought a pair of 9006 for my 4Runner. It has long life span and I like the brightness. Good bulbs. Will buy again.

Keep the receipt and packaging
Purchased these in December 2011, and one of the bulbs has just burnt out (November 2012).
Based on my research before my initial purchase, I didn't think they would last a year so I kept the packaging and the receipt. Canadian Tire has a 1 year warranty.
Would I still recommend the bulbs,Yes. But Keep your receipt and packaging just in case they don't last a year.

So far so good
I recently purchased a set of these a few days ago to replace the cheaper $10 bulbs.
I first replaced only one half to compare the difference. What I noticed was that these bulbs had a beam that was more white than yellow. The width of the beam was noticeably wider.
I am still undecided whether these are that much brighter than the standard bulbs to represent a $20/bulb premium price.
In summary, any upgrade from the standard cheaper bulb is better but undecided whether going with the highest price bulb will give you that much more of a performance over the mid priced bulbs.
Would I say this is an average product? No, it clearly is not. Would I say it is good? Yes, but overall recommendation rating is affected by how it is priced. Do I feel the price matches the value of the performance I've noticed? I could not convincingly say yes.
Would I recommend these to a friend? Well only if they wanted the perception that they were getting that much more value over a basic bulb. What I would recommend to them is that they consider a medium range for the price, the differences would probably be negligible to the operator of the vehicle.

Short life span
Lights were a huge improvement over my stock low beams in Grand Prix, lasted about a year. I liked the look of them as well as the output, very white compared to most lights that appear yellowish.

Excellent bulbs
I got these to replace another leading brand wich were not very satisfying. Now with these ones, I can see further and wider in front of my car, powerfull white light and very bright in town and more then excellent on dark highways far from any source of lights. The package do state: "they wont last as long as regular Halogen lights due to the extra output power" , trust me its worth it. They are ULTRA bright.

Installation tip - Bulb life span
When installing these headlights, DO NOT touch the bulb with your fingers. This will dramatically shorten the life span of the lights.
