Easy to install -easy to pack!
This cargo container is easy to put on your vehicle. Fits a LOT of luggage....we fit enough for 4 people...and it withstood a downpour without letting in a drop of water onto our belongings. We have travelled to multiple destinations - gone camping and overstuffed it ....it still continues to take a beating and not fall off the car!! Very happy with the purchase!

Great buy for price
I bought this carrier when it was on sale for $99, how can one go wrong?! I find it can be a bit tricky to put together, but once that is done it has been a great addition to my little car. It can store a lot, it hasn't really added to my gas consumption, and the price was right. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs the extra space, doesn't want to spend an arm and a leg, and doesn't mind that it is a little more boxy than other options on the market.

Not the best but works
Bought this product 2 years ago...this sport rack isn't the best out there but for 200 bucks and for short distance trips they are good. assembly instructions should be clearer and perhaps they have made them more sturdy over the years.
you get what you pay for.

You get what you pay for
This is not a quality product.
I bought 3 of these boxes over the years. What brings me back is the price when it'son sale.
I am now considering investing in something a higher quality.
The plastic is thin and will bend over time. Heat will also deform the plastic. The clips break as well.
Long installation but that's not in my opinion the worst aspect of these boxes.
If you are needed a box for a few days, that might be good, if not, know that you are not buying something great, just something that will do the job

Low quality and bad customer support
Be warned: this unit could take you 2-3 hours to put together because the manufacturer has done ZERO assembly of any part (except the spring supports).
The plastic is so thin that when it gets warm in the summer it bends and warps all over the place. It's so soft that it cannot even support the weight of the top portion in the open position. Over time plastic will break when bent and warped like this repeatedly.
I contacted the manufacturer to see if they would provide a reinforcement kit and they ignored my emails until I sent them an angry letter. Then they basically said it's their lower-end unit and if I didn't like it I could always return it.
I ended up spending a little more on a competitors product that will last much longer than this flimsy thing.

decent value when on sale
I bought this when it was on sale for $99. when I assembled it it seemed pretty flimsy but held up well on out trip.
It didn't say on the website or packaging that it comes with no way to attach it to your car. my local CT sold the roof rack kit but not the straps that i wanted because i don't have roof racks and didn't want to buy any. The box tells me which straps I need for my car but my location didn't have them or even have them in their system. It turns out they were available at other CT locations so we drove to get them.
The CT database doesn't list the straps with green clips at all by the Thule part number (92003) even though they list the black clips as 92001, but a call to Thule got me the actual CT part number for the green clips as 040-1048-6 so I was able to get a CT employee to find them in their database. the straps and clips fit our car (2000 Jetta) perfectly.
We drove from Vancouver island to Los Angeles and back switching between the I5 and highway 1 and 101. We drove 140 Km/h for hours on end in SoCal hot sun and it didn't fall apart like i thought it would. we drove the super twisty Highway 1 in Cali at speed and it stayed on around the corners.
When the carrier was warm from the SoCal sun, it didn't stay open very well because the lid would sag and sometimes it would close on your arm, but being so light, no real harm done other than worrying me that when that soft it might fall apart while on the highway.
So 5000 Km in 9 days, no issues. worth $99.

Easy assembly, great carrier.
We purchased the Explorer Sportrack a few weeks ago, and after reading many reviews, we planned an entire morning to install it. We started at 9am, (it is a 2 person job) and had it all put together by 10:30am. We had also purchased the U-Bolt kit to mount it to the roof racks of our Jeep Cherokee, and we had it completely installed and ready to roll by 11am...We loaded it up, and are ready to take it for it's first test ride...

Great
Great roof rack for the price. Be sure to put aside some time to assemble it and purchase the sport rack U-Bolt kit to make life easier for yourself. Placing the hinges on the box and aligning the top and bottom posed to be a bit of a challenge, like other reviewers have written get ready to go inside the box to install the hinges and have someone on the outside to close it for you... bring a flashlight :)
Plenty of room and good at highway speeds.

Excellent product at a reasonable price!
I got this on sale, and it turned out to be a very good choice. The product is relatively light compared to similar carriers, but it is made of durable material.
I mounted this on a Montana SV6, and it fit nicely. I highly recommend this product!
