Overall Good Saw
At the sale price of $299 ot os a good deal. I looked at many others before buying this one for my fence project. I looked at all the reviews and questions before purchase. I was also able to get the good stand for it at the previous sale price from a couple weeks ago. The one problem I have had with it is the bevel lock. It would not lock the saw in position. I found many people have had this issue also and followed the steps from them to tighten it all up. For the price I cant complain that much but this is obviously an issue that should be fixed. 5 Year Warranty is a bonus also.

Can't go wrong!
Honestly, not much to say here. This mitre saw performs! At $299 on-sale, this is a steal of a deal. For the home-owner / DIY-er, this is a tool that will be invaluable without breaking the bank.
Highly recommended.

I love it !
I am definitely not a pro carpenter, but just a handyman husband.
I bought this saw on special for $300 plus the stand for about $80.
I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. It does what I purchased it to do. And the suction dirt bag works well. I love the cutting wheel brake that slows the wheel and stops it after cutting.
Thankyou to CT for a good saw for a good price!

Best choice for the price
Dual bevel sliders have lots of moving parts and lots of adjusters. Mine was not true out of the box; the fence was slightly off - really easy to set. The worst part of the saw is the crummy little bevel set bolts used for setting the fixed 45 and 30 degree stops. The manual say they are 3/8" but mine were slightly larger and you need a really skinny wrench to tighten the lock-nuts. All my presets were out so I set all 4 #2 left, 2 right# but found that despite the angles were set true, the red marker showing the bevel setpoint did not make sense; it would be slightly out on the right side if the left side looked OK; it's a crummy red bent piece of metal held on by a screw #the manual shows a hex head bolt#. I can only surmise that the protractor scale on the machine is wrong as the saw cuts are fine. The 48 degree stops don't work properly as the heads of the lock nuts on each side interfere with the casting of the bevelling frame.

OK on special
Decent saw, If you get it on special. At full price I would go for the Makita or Bosch, they are a bit more expensive, but if you want to dish out 500$ might as well go with a brand like makita that you know will last a lifetime.

Great saw
Very pleased with this saw, especially on sale for $399.00 Runs on my Honda 2000w generator at the cottage. Well worth the money, like most Maximum products.

Get what you pay for
This is a decent saw for most DIYers but likely not a good choice for the pro. The sliders are my main concern as they tend to stick. I've tried cleaning them but no changes.

great buy
great saw, worth every penny, I went through all the calibrating in the owners manual, it was bang on right out of the box.love the dual laser, very accurate. I really appreciate the info in the owners manual on cutting crown moulding. works great on multi clamp stand also from canadian tire.
