Jobmate 24-piece Rotary Tool Kit
Got this on sale for around $10, and have to say it's probably one of the best values in tools around. For most people, no need to spend the extra money on a Dremel. I'm sure a Dremel is better all around, but for basic work, this has been great. Just used it on a cast iron BBQ grate to take off some rust and made quick work of it. Even if this somehow lasts half as long as a Dremel, it's more than worth it for the low price. I've heard some bad things about this brand with some of the tools they've put out, but this rotary tool is not one of them.

Alright well it lasts
slight use here and there and today she says no more, motor burnt out. its just a matter of you get what you pay for. if you rely on your tools to get the job done i would recommend getting a dremmel.

All you need for your dog's nails
I read tons of reviews, looked at YouTubes, asked questions, and finally put out the $15 for this tool. It's amazingly for my dog's nails. Quick, painless, easy. Don't get a battery operated unit made for dogs. You'll spend way too much time and cause way too much stress on you and the dog. 5 minutes with this, and the job's done.

Great Product for the Money
I went to Cdn Tire to buy a Dremel to use for lightweight household work, and even for manicures (light work on toe/finger nails). I was expecting to pay around $40 and was very happy to find this Cdn Tire brand at only $15. It performs very well and even came with bits and collet etc. It doesn't have a case, so you have to keep the bits etc. in the plastic bag. Electric with quite a long cord. Great value.

This mini tool is as good as the Dremel at a much lower price. The accessories are reasonable as well.

I punished the heck out of one of these little buggers when I ported a cylinder head with it. The recommended tool for which would be a die grinder, but this little fella, and all of the sanding rolls, a couple of the stones and cutters in the kit managed the job. Have also found it useful for duties such as cutting off frozen exhaust bolts in tight spaces where a full sized grinder won't go.
Mine got a little loud, possibly due to dust/grit intrusion, but given the heavy duty uses I subjected it to, I was not disappointed for the money. I'm still using that one, but picked up another next time they went on sale, for a backup. I have also owned a black and decker mini multitool which I liked and didn't punish nearly as hard, but is on it's last legs, so I feel that the Jobmate has exceeded the durability, quality and performance of that one at less than half the price.
I am going to be porting an intake manifold with it soon, which might "use up" this one, given that I'll be heavy handed with it. But I'm convinced I've got about double my money's worth out of it already.....
For the size of the tool, I would not have thought a dremel would have coped much better. That's just a function of the amount of force you can put on a small bearing. Big tools last longer, but don't fit in the same spaces, or are less maneuverable.
I have noticed how the issue with the lock button could be a problem for some, but this would be due to trying to remove the chuck with it only lightly engaged. Make sure you fully engage it very firmly and you won't strip it out.

Ideal for the price
I use it regularly, I think it's a great thing for the price.

be careful with the spindle lock, it breaks easy. good for the ametuer hobbyist, but upgrade to a better mastercraft or dremel rotary if you can.

I purchased this tool because I needed to cut a slot into a hex screw that was in my old bathtub faucet and wasn't moving with an allen key. All I can say is WOW. This little beauty handled the job amazingly well. the variable speed was excellent and the tool performed beyond my expectations for $15. I'm sure that this isn't professional grade and if you're after something to accomplish things on that level, you should likely purchase something designed for that. Buying a $15 rotary tool with the thought of it being top quality...perhaps you should rethink your career choice. But if you need something for around the house for small jobs and the like, you just can't go wrong with this. Very, very impressed!

Great Product. Best Bang for Buck
I bought this to finish a job I was struggling at with a coping saw and chisel. I must say, for the price I paid, this is the best tool I ever purchased. It is powerful and not too loud. The motor doesn't sound like it is struggling either when pressure is applied. Plus, Jobmate might be a "householdie" brand, but all the Jobmate things I have owned have not been junk to say the least.
And yes, it takes Dremel bits. This is confirmed. I am not sure how quality the other Jobmate bits it came with are (haven't used them) but like I said, it takes Dremel attachments that are 1/8 or 3/16. The bits it came with look and feel exactly like Dremel's.
It also has 6 speeds which is nice. The top speed setting can eat wood (which is good for if you need to take a lot off) and on lower settings does a nice sanding job. It is very solid, feels like the same equipment Dewalt or other top brands use for their power tools (not flimsy "TV remote control" plastic)
Remember to read the instructions (because I didn't) for those who haven't used a rotary tool before. There is a chuck and a tightener. Make sure both are tight, otherwise the bit will be loose. It didn't shoot out or anything, but you will see it sliding around as you use it. Once you tighten it correctly (as per instructions), it stays secure. Also, I really suggest you wear safety goggles (not glasses) with it, since you will be moving it around, and it won't be shooting off dust and filaments in a consistent direction, it is very easy to get stuff in your eyes! Of course, you should wear safety equipment with all tools, but for any hand help grinder, it is extra important.
