Great Thermostat
Yes, it's very easy to install and very easy to program.
I installed it in my 50+ year old house which was 2 wired (black/red wire and white wire). Let's see if it'll actually save me some heating costs. The only thing is I wish it had a password function so my wife doesn't keep turning up the heat (or if you have renters).

Honewell RTH8500D Touchscreen Thermostate
I found the product features listed on the packaging for the RTH8500D regarding backlighting a little mis-leading. I interpreted the backlighting feature as being on all the time, to which after installation found out that the backlighting only comes on when the touch display is activated. The backlight feature on the packaging should be more clear on this, as I probably would have bought a different product. The RTH8500D is a little hard to view without the backlight on and a bit of a pain to always having to touch the screen to view the displayed information. I'm disappointed in this product, because of this. Otherwise I like all the other features that this touchscreen has.

very good product
Operationally, this is a very good product. Not only does it control the temperature by reactive means but can be setup to be proactive based on the temperature trend. My only comment about this product is the lack of on screen humidity measurement but since it couldn't independently control humidity, it's not a big issue but still would be nice to have.

Great thermostat!
This Honeywell model is a great thermostat. Very easy to program and the LCD screen lights up.

Good Product
We bought this product two years ago. It is easy to setup and operate. It is excellent product except the price.

Great purchase
I have bought this thermostat last year from CT before the cold season. Very easy to program and lots of features. A very nice convenience is the automatic daylight savings clock update.
Also the temperature can be set in .5 degrees Celsius increments, which lowered the 2 degrees or more temperature swings I have had before with my old electronic thermostat.
In late spring or early autumn you can keep a reasonable temperature in your house by setting the thermostat to "AUTO heat or cool". This may start the AC on very hot days and the heat on really cold nights.

love it
Installed this thermostat about 2 years ago. never had any problems what so ever. I love the programming ability and all the functions on the touch screen. Two of my favourites are: calendar reminders to change filters, and freezing the touch screen to clean it!
