Good set
I picked up this set when it was on sale. The knives are good quality and a good weight. One of the steak knives rusted soon after purchase but none of the others have done that. Even with that problem, I would recommend these knives.

Rusting knives
It took only 1 month of regular use and the rust spots began to appear on the steak knives. Other knives OK

Good Price and Great Quality
Bought it and used over 3 years. Never have any problem..NO rust at all. It need to sharpen sometimes as normal stainless steel knife. The block is made from wood which could be less hygienic but if you hand wash and let it dry properly before put it back to the block, no problem at all. Will buy one more set to my mon.

Great Knife Set
This set was a Christas gift, and bought on sale at 60% off I do believe. They are very sharp knives, the block is sturdy and the set has an attractive deisgn. I sharpen the bigger knives often and they work even better. I do not put them in the dishwasher as it recommends. Everytime I forgot and put them in the dishwasher, they came out with rust spots. But overall, very pleased with this knife set. Buy when on sale if possible!

Garbage, total waste of money
I am awaiting a response from Cuisinart regarding these knives as I bought them for my Wife for a Christmas gift, and they have never gone into the dishwasher and they are horribly rusty. They are so bad that I do not want to use them anymore. Very disappointed in this purchase. I have since lost the receipt so I cannot return them to Canadian Tire. All of the knives in the set that we have used are doing this, not just 1 knife.

The best for the price!
I have had these for just one year and only had one problem the shears are broken. the center screw has become De threaded so that is bad. but as for rust you should never dishwasher good quality knife sets to begin with! The rust comes from carbon and the best knife blades in the world have high carbon in the blades to give you a long lasting edge. You should wash them by hand and put them in the wooden block to drip dry them. The Henckels knife set have more nickel in them so the blade is more attractive but it makes the knife heavy. I don't like a heavy blade,One of the best chef knives you can buy is the MAC MBK-85 MAC Mighty Chef 8.5" it cost $120.US and won against every knife in a contest if you put it in a dishwasher it will rust! and by the way Henckels came in 2nd last! So like a Japanese sword they are high in carbon keep them out of the dishwasher!

Very happy with my Cuisinart Knife Set
When I decided to research knives to replace the junk I had been using for years I wasn't sure if I should buy these, or something higher-end because the top knives are considerably more expensive.
A friend who worked in a professional kitchen recommended this set to me. At that time he had had them for about a year and it is a year since I have had them.
These knives are terrific! They cut well, stay very sharp with a little honing and as someone who cooks a lot I am very pleased with the quality and performance. As the other reviewers have said, wipe and clean after use, don't leave wet to rust. (If you watch chefs on cooking shows they are always wiping thier blades dry)
I don't know what I might have found in knives 10 times the price but it is not something I am too concerned about, I bought these and I haven't looked back.

Good quality, good price
I wanted to get a forged knife set with a decent bread knife. The knives being forged, and the handles being triple-riveted, means that they should last a very long time. Note that the sharpener, like any "normal" knife sharpener, can't be used with the two serrated knives. You can only use it with the other ten knives. The bread knife is 7" long which is an inch shorter than most individually sold bread knives but still a good length. Some people may not like the fact that the block is made from wood which could be deemed slightly less hygienic than other materials. But I'm OK with that. Another drawback is that most of the knives fit horizontally rather than vertically which I find a tad cumbersome. The final drawback is that the packaging is on the cheap side -- the knives come in thin cardboard pouches. Therefore, carefully inspect all knives after purchase. But otherwise it's a good quality knife set at a good price, especially if on sale. I have had them for a few weeks now and they are excellent. Keep in mind that no type of "stainless steel" is truly immune to rust. Hand dry any knife, not just these ones, immediately after use.

As good as my old Henckels
I replaced my old Henckels with this set about a year ago and I am pretty happy with them. Since these blades are not serrated, I can now use the sharpener. I keep them razor sharp and they do a really good job. You may find tiny rust spots if they're not dried properly, but give them a good wipe down and the spots disappear.
